Michael Jackson – The Singer, Entertainer, Humanitarian and Fashion Icon

Michael Jackson’s death shook the world on Thursday 25^th June 2009. Michael Jackson was known to us all as the ultimate entertainer which impacted the music world in tremendously, however Michael was also a global great humanitarian, supporting 39 charity organizations either with monetary donations or through project sponsorships.

In the 2000 edition of the Guiness Book of Records, Michael Jackson was recognized for breaking the world record for the “Most Charities Supported By a Pop Star”. Michael Jackson loved all children, contrary to media allegations and always took time out while touring to visit sick children secretly and even had special rooms at his Neverland Ranch for terminally ill and sick children.

Michael Jackson’s influence in the music and entertainment industry is un-measurable. Michael had his own trademark sound and mind blowing dance moves along with mini-feature length music video clips such as the record breaking Thriller, by which most of today’s singers acknowledge as have been inspired by him.

Michael Jackson has also inspired the fashion world over the years. He dazzled us all in the 1980s with multi-zippered leather jackets, high-water pants, white socks, arm bands and then in the later years with his shiny aviator sunglasses with his 19^th century military inspired crystallized jackets, socks and the infamous white sequined glove.

More recently, Michael Jackson continued to influence the fashion industry while making his comeback, as seen in Christophe Decarnin’s spangled bandleader jackets for Balmain, reminiscent of the jackets Michael Jackson has worn in the past. Celebrities like Rihanna, Beyonce and Kanye West were all seen sporting Michael Jackson inspired outfits.
